Central Regional Swim Team Pasta Party

Like last year, Tammy hosted a pasta party for the swim team.  Being an Elks, Tammy was able to use the Hall at the Bayville Elks. Beats having about 70 kids in the house.
She had great help with her friends and team moms Kelly and Jen.  Peter was a great help with the kitchen duties.
The kids had a blast and it was a pleasure seeing them having fun without their cell phones. (most of the time)
Emily came with her new little adorable nephew.  She was babysitting, but he sure was a welcome guest because everyone adored him.

Ava's soccer shoot

Every year the Elks sponsor a soccer shoot.
Soccer is one of the fastest growing youth activities in the country. The Elks Soccer Shoot Program is geared to coincide with this sport phenomenon. From toddlers to teens, in our large urban centers to our small suburban settings, soccer is becoming the sport of choice for our youth. This program is the kind of sporting event to help keep our youth focused and away from undesirable activities.
The Elks Soccer Shoot program consists of two different contests that test different level skills at different ages. A "Five Goal Contest" consists of a series of five goals, decreasing in size from 48 inches to 17 inches. The age groups that use these goals are divided into two categories, U-8 contains all ages seven years old and younger, and U-10 group contains ages eight and nine. The contest is open to boys and girls who shoot separately. The U-8 contestants kick from 15 feet from the face of the goal, while the U-10 contestants kick from 18 feet from the goal.
The Grid Goal Contest consists of a full-size goal sectioned off so points can be scored when the ball is kicked into certain sections. The age groups that use this goal are U-12, which contain the ages ten and eleven, and U-14, which contain ages twelve and thirteen. The contest is open to both boys and girls and they shoot separately.
Our Township honors our little players with a certificate.  Ava got first place in her age category.

Swim meet

I am really not in the mood to write.  Having shoulder pain makes it very hard.  Going for a MRI Monday, Doctor's appointment on Wednesday.
We did go to the swim meet.  We've not been there at all this year, but it is so very uncomfortable to sit there on those darn bleachers.  Being in pain makes it even worse.  I did take a few pictures.  Glad to report that Central won.

Baby it's cold outside

Happy New Year!
We did have cold weather before, but this is a little too much. I don't think that there is an end in sight yet and we are supposed to get a huge snow storm tomorrow.  The news report says:
Winter Storm Grayson to Bring a Wintry Mess of Ice and Snow Expected From North Florida to Maine; Blizzard Conditions Possible in New England.
Yikes....time to stay in and oh yeah...you people out there....don't forget to run out and get milk and bread.  Hahaha
On New Year's day we went for a ride to the campground.  It was too cold to stay, but I did take a few pictures.
On the way home we took Rt. 9 and went down Butler Blvd. in Bayville.  I wanted to see the new fishing pier at the playground.  From there we took the road that goes past the Cove towards Ocean Gate.  It was a nice ride.  Missed all the old telegraph poles, but the old building is still standing.
We also stopped a new store (yes it was open) called Market Fresh.  I wished they would have a store like this in our development.
Back home we just chillaxed the rest of the day.
