Sunday - fun day

First we went to see Ava's soccer game.  It was the best game ever and they won 4:2 to top it off.  Ava was the goalie today, because their regular one was sick.  She totally rocked!

After the games we went to the Lacey Elks for Elktoberfest.  It was actually pretty nice. We had a beer and ordered Thueringer Bratwurst with Sauerkraut and potato pancakes.  The wurst was good and so was the kraut.  The pancakes was nothing to brag about. All in all though, it was a nice affair.  We listened to some German music played by a live band.  The band members and some dancers were dressed in their 'Lederhosen and Dirndl'.

Tony Orlando

We went to see Tony Orlando at the PNC Art Center yesterday.  It was pretty awesome!  Many people might remember seeing him as "Tony Orlando and Dawn".  The Art Center was crowded and the music was great with a special appearance of one of the original Duprees.  I didn't get his name. :-(

Chris Christie

Our Elks Lodge hosted a forum with Governor Chris Christie.  I was one of the many photographers there.  Even wore my ID tag.  LOL

Garden State Art Center

Garden State Art Center.....that is what it was used to be called before it was purchased by an investor.  Now it is called PNC Art Center.  Premium Beer $15?  Are they of the rocker?  We went there today on a senior trip and it was a lot of fun.  Next time though and that will be next Thursday, I'll bring a bottle or two of wine coolers.
Today we had the pleasure of listening to 3 different bands. The Elgins, The Marvelettes and The Contours.
It wasn't bad, but I am really looking forward to next week when Tony Orlando is on the schedule.

Turtle Back Zoo

The weather was much to gorgeous today to stay home.  We took a ride to the Turtle Back Zoo.  I wanted to see it for a long time already. We were pleasantly surprised.  It was a wonderful visit.

Visiting LBI

Today was just another gorgeous summer day.  We took a ride to LBI, walked around a little and just enjoyed the fresh ocean breeze.  Of course, you just got to love Barney. (Barnegat Lighthouse)
