Another year has passed and we already have Thanksgiving.  Before you know it Christmas is here.
Dennis and Chrissy prepared a delicious Thanksgiving dinner and everyone had a nice time.  It’s always great to get together with family.

Rock Mountain

Today was a great day to take a ride.  So we decided to take a ride to Rock Mountain.  Big disappointment!  Well, it wouldn't have been because it looked interesting and like a lot of fun.  As we were approaching the park, we noticed that you have to pay to get in, but we didn’t really know what to expect.  We asked the cashier what we’ll see.  She said that all the rides are closed, and some of the sites worth seeing had constructions.  I asked what we would get for our $15pp entrance/parking fee.  She answered that we could take a walk around Rock Mountain, which is a 5 mile walk.  Needless to say that the next thing I was asking how we can get out of there.  The trip from the campground to Rock mountain was 50 miles….it wasn’t really a waste, because I love looking at areas.  It was  pretty ride.  When we got home, we ate diner and Peter lit a fire.  The sunset was once again gorgeous.

Crane or Heron?

My highlight today I guess would be this bird.  I took the pictures from the inside of the camper.  It is still raining and I guess a library trip is in order to upload the blog and browse Facebook a little.

Mushrooms & leaves

We’ll it’s Sunday, cold, rainy and miserable.  Yesterday, Peter went up on the roof to clean up the leaves.  I have never seen that may leaves in one spot.  The thing is, that it seems we are the only campsite with this many leaves.  While taking Kia for a walk, I saw a lot of mushrooms.  Some so obvious that they are not edible, but then there were others, that I wasn’t too sure off.  My mom used to go mushroom picking and she knew them all.  She made the most yummy meals with the fresh picked mushrooms.  As for me, I better just take pictures.

A special treat–the sun is out

About four hours of sun and a gorgeous sunset…the little things in life that makes us happy.  It was a real nice afternoon and it felt good to sit outside for a change.  Even Kia appreciated it.  This was yesterday (Friday) and of course as predicted, it was only a teaser, because it rained the whole night and as I sit here, 7 am Saturday morning, it is still coming down.

Moving day

We are here 14 days and normally you can’t stay more two weeks at a time.  Because these are the Winter months, they didn’t mind that we stayed longer and we are glad, because the other campground “Sawnee at Lake Lanier” where we had reservation for these two weeks is not as nice.
The new campsite is right next door to our old site and the view, as you can see at the pictures, is spectacular. The downside….it’s been raining for a week now and there is no end in sight.

Funky fruits and yummy steaks

Peter found this weird looking “fruit” here at the campground.  I found out that it’s called “Kaffir Lime”.  It does have a little citrus scent, but whether or not it’s editable, I have no idea.

When we went to Costco the other day, we picked up some steak and boy, where they good.  Grilled to perfection.
