Halloween

Fun, fun….I did miss spending Halloween at home, especially since two of the grand kids were in the parade, but I did have a good time here at the campground too.  They had a pumpkin carving contest and a parade, as well as trick or treating.  We had a good fire going and sat outside most of the afternoon until about 6:30pm.

Atlanta

We met Katrin and Rudi in Atlanta today.  It was a great day and so good seeing them again.
We visited the Georgia Aquarium.  It was nice, but I have to day that the Baltimore aquarium is much nicer. Atlanta itself was very nice.  At least the little bit we saw.  We didn’t visit the Coca Cola Museum.  Two people told us it’s not all that.  I was fine with it.  The Olympic Park is very nice.
We ended our visit with a pulled pork sandwich.  It was pretty good and then we went home.  We usually try not to say away from Kia more than 7 hours.  She is such a good girl.  I am sorry, but my Picasa didn’t work, so I uploaded the pics here.

Day 3

Went to Wally World to pick up a few things and then off to Panera Bread for some WiFi.
We had a little wine at the fire this afternoon.  We also talked to Tammy…poor thing, she feels so lousy. She had Sinus Surgery done and truly is suffering.  Not really any pictures to look at, except the little fire.

Day two

We went to Sawnee’s and boy are we glad we did.  The site that we had reservations for is much too small for our unit and the campground is not as nice as the one we are staying at.  The area is very pretty and I am sure there is much to see and enjoy, but we decided that we are going to stay at Bolding Mills.
On the way back to our camper we picked up some firewood.  Oh boy…the owner of the shop was the most prejudice man I have even met in my life.  I guess we are in the South…. LOL
Once we were back at the camper I went on-line to check which sites are available and found out that there are very few open for the time when we need a site.  One of the sites open though, was the one next to us and it didn’t take us long to decide that is the one we take and I booked it right away. The site has a gorgeous view of the lake!  We couldn’t believe how lucky we were to get that site and to top it off….right next to our old site.  Super!  I canceled the campsite at Sawnees and now we are all set here until we leave. Life it good.

Day one

We went shopping today.  Publix and Aldis.  Freezer and fridge are filled and now we are ready to relax.
Dinner was an awesome NY Strip and then I went down to the lake to take a few picture of the sunset.  Gorgeous!!
We will drive to the other campground tomorrow to see what it is like.  The host of this campground told us that if we want to, we can stay the other two weeks here as well.  We do have to move off this site though.  It would be nice to stay here, but since we have to move to a different site anyway, we might as well check our site at Sawnee to see if we like it.

On the way to Georgia

It was a pretty smooth ride….looong, but the traffic was OK.  We stayed the first night in Salem VA.  The campground was OK for one overnight stay, but I wouldn’t vacation there.  I would use it for an overnight stay again though.
From Virginia to Tennessee, the views were gorgeous!  The turning leaves….the colors were unbelievable.
We arrived the next day at Lake Lanier.  Our campsite was easy to pull in and the campground is nice, as all Army Corps of engineers.  The temperature is high in the 70ties.

Dennis’ 42nd Birthday

We celebrated our baby's 42nd birthday.  I don’t know how it happened….all of the sudden he’s 42!  I refuse to believe it!  I think that is the wrong calculation!  Anyway, we had a get-to-gether at Uminoya.  It was actually very good and I even tried Sushi….raw tuna fish!!!  I got to be honest, I tried a piece and I enjoyed it.

Barnegat

Another Senior bus trip.  Today we went to the Barnegat Farm Market.  We took a view look-see and then off the explore the town.  Lot of antique store and this one weird place that had EVERYTHING from toilets to airplane propellers.  Lunch at Doyle's Pour House.  Beer was only $1 and the food was great.  On the way back to the bus we stopped at Sweet Jennie’s, the former Hurricane House.  It changed a lot in there, but they did keep the booth.

New York, New York

Today my oldest granddaughter and I went to New York.  We saw quite a bit….went to Time Square to get us some M&M Candies, then Bryant Park, Grand Central Station, Macy’s, and so many other places, including Rockefeller Center.  It was pretty awesome, especially the part about spending some quality time with my oldest granddaughter.
