Day three and four

First let me say that I am sorry that I am not up-to-date with my e-mail replies.  So little time for the computer and I am glad when I find a few minutes to update this blog.  We are having a good time and the weather is perfect.
Yesterday we went to
“Broadway at the Beach”.  It’s a great place to, dine and have fun.  We went there in 2007 and it was nice to return to this place.  When we got home, Paul already had the turkey in the oven.  It smelled great and we sure enjoyed a great meal.

OK lets go!

Today we ‘chillaxed’ and in the afternoon we took a walk to the beach.  There were a lot of people and the water wasn’t even too cold.  I only went in with my feet though.
Leftovers for dinner and they were good.  Perfect ending of a great day.

Myrtle Beach–day one and two

We arrived at the state park sound and safe on Tuesday around 2 pm.  The trip went smooth and there weren’t any problems – and why not?  We had a great driver.Driving down the highway 2011-04-26 005
Judy, Paul, Sue and Bill were here already and it was good to see them again. It was pouring in the afternoon, but warm.  Nobody felt like cooking, so we all went out to eat at the Olive Garden.
Wednesday, the guys went shopping…(yes, the guys) and we girls just relaxed and hung out.  Poor Sue had a swollen knee and Bill took her to the ER.  It was a little scary, because the swelling was pretty bad.   They didn’t find anything, maybe to much stress on the knee from walking too much.
It was warm, the sun was out and there only was an occasional drizzle.    For dinner we had Ham Stroganoff over noodles, with veggies.  Strawberries with whipped cream topped it off. Later that night we too a ride to the beach.  It was awesome.

On the way to Myrtle Beach

We are at our usual stop, going South.  Wal-Mart in Emporia, VA.  The ride was good.  Not too much traffic and by taking Rt. 13 to Rt. 50 to Rt. 301 over Delaware, we not only avoided Baltimore, we saved about $30.

We had a great Easter.  As usual, the whole family got together and we had a wonderful time.  After everyone left, I cleaned up and now we are sitting here for a little while to unwind and then we are off to bed.  I have no idea what time we are leaving for S.C. tomorrow, but one thing is sure….we are looking forward to our trip to Myrtle Beach in our RV.

Holy Communion and Easter Eggs

We went to church yesterday.  Anna had her first communion and we also attended Maundy Thursday’s service, as well as a supper before that.  It was actually very nice….up to the part right after supper, when our little Ava threw up.  Poor Ava and yes, Tammy too, because both of them were covered in vomit.  Tammy took Ava home and gave her a bath.  Luckily, Jamie came over to babysit, which enabled Tammy to come back for Anna’s First communion.

Today, Anna stayed over Chrissy’s and Tammy brought Ava over here, so that she could rest and recover.  She did OK and watched a movie, colored Easter eggs and we painted finger nails. She also made me a pretty fish picture.

New bed and an evening with friends.

Kia finally did it and destroyed her bed all the way.  The filling was all over the living room floor.  Why I didn’t take a picture?  I didn’t even think about it.  So off to Wal-Mart for a new bed.  Now comes the difficult part.  There were two kinds.  One for $8.97 made in the USA and another, real nice and sturdy looking for $19.67 made in China.  Of course, my first thought was to buy the American made one.  However, it was so lousy made and looked like Kia will have it apart in no time, so against our better judgment, we opted for the ‘better’ one.  Got it home and Kia absolutely loved it.  She went in it right away and was happy.  She didn’t care whether or not it was made in China.   That was yesterday.  This morning when we got up, we looked at her bed, we found it had a rip already.  Needless to say, it goes back to the store today.  I guess we’ll get the cheaper one instead.DSC_0110
We went to see Luke and Elisabeth play soccer and boy, was it cold!!  Because their soccer games are both at the same time, we watched Elisabeth play the first 30 minutes and the other half we watched Luke’s game.  Now mind you, Elisabeth is only three years old, so the parents, in her case…. mom, were on the field as well.  Guess who did the exercises and who watched?  (BTW, Chrissy did do great jumping jacks) LOL
Off to Luke’s game.  Because it was so bitter cold, Luke ran with his hands in the pockets for the first few minutes of the game.  He was really cute and when we all cheered him on, he ran some more and even scored a goal.  He did well.  Did I mention that Dennis is the coach?

The day ended with a get-to-gether at our neighbor and friend’s house Pat and Ray.  We had a nice evening with good food and great neighbors.  Thanks, Pat and Ray, you are gracious hosts.

We talked about k.d. Lang last night and I said that I really like her voice and some of the songs that I heard. Got a real nice surprise this morning.  The door bell rang and Janet was out there bringing me a CD of songs the she made for me.  Thanks, Janet!!!!  I am going to enjoy the CD later today.

At 3 PM we were at Anna’s soccer game.  It was a great game, except they lost.  I do think though that they were very good.

Chorus, Birthday books, friends, and my messy room…

Tonight was another performance of Anna in her school chorus.  It was really very nice and we enjoyed both, the 5th and 6th grade’s performance.  Needless to say that our Anna looked very pretty. She is on the left side, top row.  Click on picture below….

We had a surprise visitor today.  Peter’s ex-coworker Russ stopped by.  Come to find out that they sold their house in Brick and purchased one here in HC South.P4146043
I always wanted to write about my Birthday Book.  It is this pretty book, filled with art work and 365 days.  I ask my friends and family to sign their name on the line the represents their birthday.  Just the name, nothing else.  That doesn’t mean that I have to remember their birthday every year now or send a card, but it is nice to just see their handwriting on their birthday and it is nice to remember them this way.  My Mom wrote her name in the book and it does bring some tears when I look at it, but it also brings back the good time we had.  Richard Fuller, a kind friend, sent it to me many years ago and I am very grateful for his wonderful present.
Last, but now least, I wanted to show the progress I am making with that awful task of emptying my messy front room.  See….it’s getting there!

Things are too busy….

….and it makes me nuts.  Between Dr.’s appointments, getting ready for the trip, hair cuts, and just daily stuff, and all other shit, I have no more time to just relax and I am not liking it.  I guess it is what it is….
Every year on April 11th Tammy, Chrissy and I drive to Atlantic City to dine, drop a few bucks and have a drink to celebrate my mother’s birthday.  She was very active and healthy and she would have been 93 year old this year.  If the cancer wouldn’t have killed her, she’d be still alive.  Anyway, Mom loved Atlantic City and by us going there once a year on her Birthday, we are celebrating her life.  I miss her so much.
My front room is empty.  The desk and the TV stand went out in the trash yesterday.  Now I have to be patient and wait for us to come back from Myrtle Beach so that Peter can paint it.DSC_0001DSC_0002
It is official!  Pele is being replaced by our little Luke and Elisabeth.  Just click on the picture below and you’ll see what I mean.

So, I believe that was about it for today.  Tomorrow is another day and so far nothing major is going on so far, except some house cleaning.

Just a little update…..

Can’t write when nothing new is happening.  Let me see….
I have told you all about Anna.  I am hoping that with the proper diet, good care from specialized physicians, medicine, and some prayers (they never hurt) she can have a healthier future.  She really had enough health problems in her 11 years.

Our association now has a computer club which I joined.  I think it is going to be fun and I think I found something that I might really enjoy.  I tried the line dancing a few times and that is not my thing.  I am a total un-coordinated klutz. My feet and my brain just don’t listen to each other and therefore I gave line dancing thumbs down.

A little while ago I posted a few pictures of our front room and how sloppy it looks.  I am almost done clearing out the room.  This weekend I am hoping that we can take the desk out and the TV stand.  When we come back from Myrtle Beach, I’ll pick out some paint and then I’ll decide how I want to decorate the room.  Can’t wait for it to be done.

Our Anna!

Today Anna went to see the specialist who did her endoscopy and biopsy.  The doctor confirmed his initial diagnosis.  Anna defiantly has Eosinophilic Esophagitis.  The next step is proper care, which means that she has to eat the right food and a visit to an allergist, as well as taking the medicine that the gastrologist prescribed.  Poor little Anna!  She is such a trooper.

Sitting here over Dennis and Chrissie’s house.  Elisabeth and Luke are sleeping like little angels and Pearl is sleeping like a lamb.  The house is quiet and I am watching Liar, Liar.  Always funny, each time I see the movie.
Poor Anna, she ended up in the ER last night again, choking.  The preliminary diagnosis is Eosinophilic esophagitis.  Tammy is taking Anna to the gastrologist on Friday and the doctor will discuss the endoscopy and biopsy results then.  Poor Anna, most of the health problems that she has are caused by her food allergies.
The pictures below are from last week when we were having dinner here.
