Time flies

Gheez, I have no idea why the time flies by so fast.  I am ‘almost’ done with Christmas shopping (do I dare and say Christmas** shopping?) and now there are a few Dr.’s appointments, get-to-gethers, Christmas Eve and packing for Florida.  The last few years we had Christmas Eve over Tammy and Dan’s house.  I guess more or less as a matter of convenience.  The house is bigger and since we always leave on the 27th, I don’t ever put up a tree anymore.  I miss having our tree up around the holiday, but I just don’t want to have to rush to take it down right after Christmas day and I really don’t want to come home to a tree in February.

**I have something to say about this ridiculous matter not being politically correct to name certain functions “Christmas”; like Christmas Market or wishing people a Merry Christmas.  I don’t mind saying Happy Holiday, after all… IS a holiday.  However, if I want to say ‘Merry Christmas’, I will say it loud and clear.  If businesses wants to put up a sign that says ‘Merry Christmas’, by all means…let them!  If there is a Christmas Market somewhere, don’t rename it to Holiday Market!!!  If you are not a Christian, open up your own friggin’ market.  Call it what ever you want, like Buddha Market, Kwanza Market, Chanukah Market, etc.  I really don’t care and if I am in the area and you make me feel welcome, I will stop by and enjoy your tradition, just like I would want you to enjoy mine.

Phew….I had to say this, because all this stupid politically correctness makes me mad!!
