Busy week

Wow....some week!  It sure was busy and exciting too.  The good news is, I am done Christmas shopping!  Yay!  I also spotted Santa in the Freehold mall when I was on the second floor.
All present are wrapped and ready to be transported to Tammy's house.  As we do every year, we celebrate Christmas eve is over at the Lucianos.  It's always very nice and I just love watching the kids unwrap their presents.
This past weekend we spent most of our time at the Elks.  Saturday was the children's Christmas party and Sunday I took pictures with Santa and the pets. It was very nice and everyone had a great time.

Our campsite in fall

What a gorgeous day we had yesterday.  We took a ride to the campground.  Peter wanted to get the leaves and pine needles off the roof and I just wanted to walk around and take a few pictures. I must say, I can't wait for the next camping season.

Once again we celebrated Thanksgiving over Dennis and Chrissy's.  Elisabeth did an awesome job creating the vegetable turkey, there were shrimps and delicious drinks with apples & cinnamon
The food was excellent, and so was the dessert.  I brought pudding shots....OMG, they are so good.  So easy to make too!
Here is where I ordered the cups:

White Russian Pudding Shots

1 package of instant chocolate pudding
3/4 c milk
1/4 cup vodka
1/2 cup Irish cream
8 oz Extra creamy Cool Whip.

Mix pudding mix and milk for a couple of minutes with an electric beater.  Add alcohol and mix well.
Add Cool Whip.  Put the mix into individual serving cups with lids.
Keep in freezer until ready to serve.

Halloween party

As we do every year, we celebrated Halloween in the Luciano driveway.  It was a beautiful October night.  Halloween, as everyone knows, is on the 31st.  However, because the Toms River parade is on Halloween night some town moved their trick or treat event to the night before so that the people can enjoy the parade the next day.
Dan made sure the fire was going and food, as well as drinks were plenty as usual.  Everyone had a spooktacular time.  We left around 9:20 pm because it got a little chilly and you know how it is with "old folks". :-)

Mini vacation in Williamsburg VA

Actually, we were there only one full day.  Driving there took about 6.5 - 7 hours.  It was a nice and very smooth ride.  No traffic jams and only a few idiots.
When we arrived we ordered dinner from Denny's.  Chicken fried steak with gravy.  It was tasty, but both of our stomachs didn't really agree with it.
The next day we went on a walking tour trough the colonial village of Williamsburg.  It was awesome and the weather was super!  No, it was PERFECT!  I am glad that we brought Kia's stroller.  She wouldn't have been able to walk the whole thing.  It was a lot and we felt our legs the next day.  However, it was worth it....every single step!  What a great place to visit!
We finished the village around 2 pm and left to drive to Yorktown.  It was an 11 miles ride on a gorgeous road lined with beautiful fall colored trees.  Well worth a visit.  A place known for both its waterfront charm and its famous battles. We wandered along the York River’s sandy beach.  It is hard to imagine that fierce fighting ever took place nearby many years ago.
On the way home we drove through Williamsburg to find a place to eat and decided to pick up some subs. We got lucky and found  Great subs and I wished they would open a franchise here.  It probably would take NJ Mike out of business.
The next day we drove home and again had a smooth ride.  All in all....a great little mini vacation.

Thanksgiving at Timberline Lake

It was a feast! Everyone brought a dish.  Food was excellent and so were the people.  It feels like we are back at Fantasy Island.  Great camaraderie, wonderful people.  Nothing like it was at J&D's.  I am so happy that we became seasonals at this wonderful campground/

Halloween at the campground

Another great day in our 'Happy Place'!  We went to Smithville to see what this 'Oktoberfest' is all about.  Smithville is right on Rt. 9.  We are right now in New Gretna. A trip that should have took about 15 minutes ended up taking an hour.  Endless cars all via the Oktoberfest.  Parking was OK, we did find a spot.
So you'd think Oktoberfest right?  Bratwurst, Oompta music, German beer, etc.  WRONG!  It was Coors and Nathan's.  Some other fried stuff, like funnel cakes, fries, and other American, as well as Mexican foods.  Lots of booth with crafts and other interesting things.
Back at the campground the Halloween fun began.  Everyone decorated the sites and the kids were trick or treating. hay rides and other cool activities were on the agenda.

Chrissy's 40th birthday

We had a nice little party for Chrissy's birthday.  Just family.  Dennis ordered and picked up pizza and the birthday cake was an ice cream cake.  The pizza was excellent and needless to say that I enjoyed the ice cream cake too.

Rough surf

Couldn't help it...needed to see the surf.  The Storm 'Maria' went out to sea but what you see in the pictures are the leftovers.
